I've recently begun working on a series of pieces inspired by tropical flowers, and this Orchid Paradise Necklace is my first attempt at a (stylized) orchid-inspired wire focal element. This piece features beautiful, tropical colored beads of aventurine, dyed jade, agate, quartzite, and shell, as well as glass pearls and crystals. All wire elements are made with silver-tone German copper wire including the central wire focal elements, the side connectors, and all of the chain and chain links. All elements are entirely handmade excepting the toggle clasp.
This piece is nice and lightweight, and is of the perfect mid-length. I've included a couple of photos below so you can get an accurate feel for how long it lays when worn.
Are you a fan of orchids? What tropical flowers would you love to 'wear' in your jewelry? I'd love to know.
